Common questions
When does my cover start?
Your cover is active immediately after your first payment is confirmed. There is no waiting period.
What happens if I miss payments?
Your cover becomes inactive if you are 3 calendar days behind. There are no penalties - simply pay your arrears to reactivate.
How long does the scheme last?
The enrollment period is capped at 150 days. Towards the end of your period, you will receive SMS reminders to complete your contributions.
Can someone else pay on my behalf?
Yes. Anyone can make a payment to your account. Your phone number is the unique identifier that links the payment to your cover.
Who is the insurance underwriter?
Amiafam's insurance scheme is underwritten by AAR, a leading insurance provider in Kenya.
